Pex is Apex Health's automated fitness and wellness companion. It uses artificial intelligence, powered in part by OpenAI technology, and can make mistakes.
What Pex processes
When you choose to use Pex, Apex may send your message and relevant account context—such as goals, preferences, workouts, nutrition summaries, progress, and recent conversation turns—to OpenAI through Apex's authenticated backend to generate a response. Do not include information you do not want processed for this purpose.
Context, memory, and storage
Recent conversation turns are retained in the app's session storage to preserve the active conversation. Apex may store structured Pex memory, pending actions, feedback, and usage metadata in Supabase. Apex does not represent that OpenAI processing is ephemeral: under OpenAI's standard API controls, prompts, responses, and related metadata may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless different account-level controls apply.
Your choices
Pex is optional. You can use Apex's deterministic workout, nutrition-logging, hydration, weight, and progress tools without sending a message to Pex. Deleting your account removes user-linked Pex memory, pending actions, and usage records held by Apex, subject to limited provider backup, security-log, legal, and transaction retention described in the Privacy Policy.
Actions and confirmation
Pex may suggest actions. Sensitive or consequential account changes are designed to require confirmation before execution. Always review a proposed change before approving it. Deterministic calculations displayed by Apex, such as totals from logged entries, are separate from AI-generated explanations and recommendations.
Limitations and safety
Pex output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate. It is general fitness and wellness information—not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency guidance, or a substitute for a physician, registered dietitian, therapist, trainer, or other qualified professional.
Pex does not guarantee calorie, macro, workout, weight, exercise-form, injury, or health accuracy. Check packaged-food labels and use appropriate form, equipment, surroundings, and judgment. Stop an activity and seek qualified help if you experience pain, injury, dizziness, faintness, disordered-eating concerns, or other concerning symptoms. For an emergency or risk of self-harm, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service immediately; do not rely on Pex.
Reporting a response
Pex is designed to be supportive and nonjudgmental. Report unsafe, incorrect, or inappropriate output through the in-app feedback control or email support@trainwithapex.net. Include the response and approximate time, but never send a password or authentication code.
Age restriction
Apex Health and Pex are intended only for adults aged 18 and older.
